A match played in terrible wind conditions, where Vale used 21 players over both halves. After a stuffy first half Vale took the lead with Grahame effort after a a good move in the 40 minutes. The second half started with nine changes and after a great move down the left a high cross was headed home by Stewart in 50 minutes. Vale third goal was scored in 68 minutes when Houten scored from close range. Strollers goal came in 80 minutes when a free kick was deflected onto the post and by the Wood. Overall a good run out for the boys spoilt by the wind.
